Mexico Implements New Regulations on Tank Cars Transporting Petrochemicals and Other Fuels

On September 23rd, the National Energy Commission of Mexico issued provisions requiring GPS monitoring and QR code marking of all vehicles (including tank cars and tank trucks) used to transport LPG and petrochemicals. The regulations include requirements for the GPS systems and how to mark the vehicles.
AllTranstek is currently gathering information regarding this regulatory change. It is our understanding that this will be discussed during the AAR TCC meetings in October in Dallas. We will provide an update after the meetings.
