I hope you all had a nice Easter holiday. It is hard to believe it has been over a year since the
declaration of the pandemic and the imposition of lock downs and stay at home orders and our lives
being completely upended. I think back to those first few weeks and months of fear and uncertainty
and remain truly amazed at how every one of you and your families rose to the challenge during
those days to keep our industry going to help all Americans. I am just so very proud of all your
efforts and you should be very proud as well. Great job!
I am sure you are all also as excited as I am about the arrival of spring and the rollout of
COVID-19 vaccinations across the country. Although there has been some recent leveling off of the
decline in the numbers of people getting sick and hospitalizations in some areas, I still think it
is very likely this will be significantly under control soon and some normalcy will return.
However, as I mentioned last time, this is not the time to relax the safety protocols we have in
place. For now, and likely for at least the next few months, Rescar and AllTranstek will still
require that masks be worn, and social distancing be observed, as we have been doing now for the
past year. We have been successful because we have followed safe practices and stayed the course,
we need to do so for a little longer.
COVID-19 Vaccination Progress:
All of you are now entitled to be vaccinated under the Category 1 c, Critical Infrastructure
Essential Worker designation. Please let your supervisor know if you are having any trouble getting
vaccinated as an essential worker and we will try to help and, remember, your Essential Worker
documentation is on our website for you to download onto your phone.
Corporate Office Reopening:
For those of you who work in the corporate offices in Downers Grove or Houston, we have completed
all the physical workspace enhancements required to make the work environment safe. Adam Meister
and his team have done a tremendous job ensuring that we are following all the CDC, OSHA, and state
and local health agencies’ guidelines. I am confident you will be impressed and will feel safe.
There will be protocols in place with regard to mask wearing, social distancing, and room
occupancy, and we will be preparing and presenting training for all employees prior to your return.
Although it is subject to change depending upon how things look as we go forward, right now we are
targeting a return to the office date of June 1, the Tuesday after the Memorial Day holiday.
We will be implementing a schedule for each of you to come in to either move to newly assigned
offices or cubicles and/or reorganize and set up your current space. Your supervisor will provide
specifics. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to seeing you all again.
